STARKVILLE, Miss.—Mississippi State University’s College of Education is recognizing 12 graduates for their exceptional work as teacher interns in Mississippi and Alabama school districts.

The recipients of the Outstanding Teacher Intern Award were nominated for exceeding expectations while completing internships at public schools across Mississippi and in Hoover, Alabama. The honorees demonstrated exemplary professionalism, performance and a high level of commitment to the teaching profession.

Recipients include:

Ashlie Anderson, an elementary education major from Bullard, Texas, taught in the Starkville Oktibbeha School District.

Margaret Aultman, an English education major from Florence, Mississippi, taught in the Starkville Oktibbeha School District.

Grace Cole, an elementary education major from Cumming, Georgia, taught in the Hoover City School District.

Brandi Hammock, an elementary education major from Hurley, Mississippi, taught in the George County School District.

Maggie Hardin, a music education major from Philadelphia, Mississippi, taught in the Starkville Oktibbeha School District.

Coy Jennings, an elementary education major from Mantee, Mississippi, taught in the Webster County School District.

Hannah Johnson, an elementary education major from Madison, Mississippi, taught in the Webster County School District.

Jennifer Kerry, a music education major from Carriere, Mississippi, taught in the Desoto County School District.

Gracie Newell, an elementary education major from Meridian, Mississippi, taught in the Lauderdale County School District.

Cy Katherine Robbins, a special education major from Madison, Mississippi, taught in the Louisville Municipal School District.

Isabella Smith, an elementary education major from Waynesboro, Mississippi, taught in the Wayne County School District.

Easton Whitehead, an English education major from St. Martin, Mississippi, taught in the Starkville Oktibbeha School District.

“I am thrilled to honor the recipients of the Outstanding Teacher Intern Award. Their exceptional performance, professionalism and dedication have distinguished them in their teaching internships,” said Teresa Jayroe, MSU College of Education dean. “They represent the bright future of the teaching profession, and we are proud to celebrate their achievements.”
