LAS VEGAS, Nev.—Two of our professors in the Instructional Systems and Workforce Development Department attended the 2016 Association for Educational Communications and Technology Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada last week and received a third-place award for their research. Dr. Sang Joon Lee and Dr. Kun Huang were awarded a third-place Division of Distance Learning Burmeister Award for their study titled “Examining the Relationship Between Learners’ Epistemic Beliefs and Perceptions of Online Learning.” They also presented another study titled “Social Presence in Distance Education,” which was also well received by the audience.
