(CAEP Component R4.2, R5.3 | RA.4.1)
The Satisfaction of Employers provides the Mississippi State University College of Education (COE) invaluable information from employers about their satisfaction with the COE’s initial teacher education graduates (completers) as they enter the teaching profession and advanced program graduates (completers) as they enter into school administration. The survey results provide information from employers about the knowledge, skills, and dispositions (preparedness) of the COE’s completers as they enter the workforce and assume the responsibility of teaching P-12 students. The advanced programs' survey results provide information from employers about the knowledge, skills, and dispositions (preparedness) of the COE's completers as they assume the responsibility of leading teachers and P-12 students as a school administrator. This survey serves as a component of the COE’s overall plan to assess institutional effectiveness and compliance for the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) Standard 4 (R4.2-Satisfaction of Employers for Initial Programs and RA.4.1-Satisfaction of Employers for Advanced Programs).
Stakeholder Involvement includes the Teacher Education Council (TEC) that aids in the design and review of curricula, requirements, and assessments related to undergraduate teacher education and school administration programs for continuous improvement (CAEP R5.3-Stakeholder Involvement). The TEC includes P-12 teachers and administrators, alumni, College of Arts and Science faculty, and COE teacher education faculty and administrators. The TEC meets bi-annually in the fall and spring semesters.
