Employment Status

(CAEP Outcome Measure 4)

LifeTracks provided information on the Mississippi State University (MSU) College of Education (COE) completers who have been hired in education positions for which they have been prepared. Mississippi LifeTracks is an interoperable data system that securely and efficiently facilitates research and analysis and provides linkages between early childhood, K-12, and postsecondary education and the workforce. Mississippi LifeTracks is powered through the National Strategic Planning and Analysis Research Center (NSPARC), a unit of Mississippi State University.

Completers of MSU COE undergraduate and alternate route teacher education (initial) as well as completers of the MSU Educational Leadership-School Administrations (advanced) are matched to the Mississippi Department of Employment Security (MDES) by NSPARC. NSPARC produces an annual Impact Report Card for the institutions of higher learning that comprise of the Mississippi Education Preparation Providers (Statewide EPP).  Within the Impact Report Card, there is a designated item that specifically reports employment of completers.

The most recent employment data available is for the 2020-2021 academic year. The employment data in the links below shows employment status of completers across three cohorts (2017-2018, 2018-2019, and 2019-2020). The 2017-2018 cohort is followed for three years after graduation. The 2018-2019 cohort is followed for two years after graduation. The 2019-2020 cohort is followed one-year after graduation.
