Employment Status
CAEP Outcome Measure 4
The Mississippi Statewide Longitudinal Data System (SLDS) provides insights concerning Mississippi State University (MSU) College of Education (COE) completers who have been hired in education positions for which they have been prepared. The interoperable data system securely supports research and analysis by linking early childhood, K-12, postsecondary education and workforce data. The SLDS is managed by the National Strategic Planning and Analysis Research Center (NSPARC), a research unit of Mississippi State University.
Graduates of MSU COE’s undergraduate and alternate route teacher education programs as well as graduates of the MSU Educational Leadership-School Administration programs are matched to the Mississippi Department of Employment Security (MDES) by NSPARC. NSPARC produces an annual Impact Report Card for the institutions of higher learning that comprise of the Mississippi Education Preparation Providers (Statewide EPP). Within the Impact Report Card, there is a designated item that specifically reports employment of completers.
The most recent employment data available corresponds to the 2022-2023 academic year. The employment data linked below shows the employment status of completers across three cohorts (2019-2020, 2020-2021, and 2021-2022). The data reflect the third year post-graduation for the 2019-2020 cohort, the second year post-graduation for the 2020-2021 cohort, and the first year post-graduation for the 2021-2022 cohort.
