Satisfaction of Employers & Stakeholder Involvement
CAEP Impact Measure 2
Mississippi State University’s College of Education (COE) gathers feedback from employers to assess the preparedness of its graduates, both from initial teacher education and advanced leadership programs, as they transition into professional roles. The Employer Surveys capture employer perspectives on the knowledge, skills, and dispositions of COE completers as they begin teaching or assume administrative responsibilities in P–12 schools. The results serve as a critical component of the COE’s ongoing evaluation of institutional effectiveness and help demonstrate compliance with CAEP Standard 4, specifically R4.2 (Initial Programs) and RA.4.1 (Advanced Programs), as well as compliance with CAEP Standard 5, specifically R5.3, concerning involvement with stakeholders.
The Employer Surveys consist of two web-based surveys hosted by the University of Mississippi that are distributed to employers of completers from both initial and advanced educator preparation programs (EPPs) through an online platform. The National Strategic Planning and Analysis Research Center (NSPARC), a unit of Mississippi State University, compiles the survey results which are included in the Mississippi Impact Report Card for participating EPPs. The advanced employer survey, targeting employers of school administration completers (master’s and specialist levels), is administered annually in March. The initial employer survey, which targets employers of traditional and alternate route completers, is administered annually in May.
