Two College of Education Distance Education Students Awarded Scholarships

The Center for Education (CDE) is proud to announce the first recipients of its $1,000 Distance Makes a Difference Scholarships. Erica McRae is working on her online Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from her home in Las Vegas, Nevada. LaShae Pritchett lives in Greenwood, Mississippi and is pursuing her online Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. Bret Alexander is in Buda, Texas, securing his online Master of Science in Geosciences.

"Many MSU distance students balance work, family, and financial responsibilities while staying dedicated to their dreams of earning a degree," said Susan Seal, executive director for the Center for Distance Education. "It is an honor to be able to award Erica, LaShae, and Bret with the Center for Distance Education's first scholarships. They have each demonstrated an enthusiastic commitment to securing their degrees and positively affecting their families as well as their communities. We are very pleased to be able to invest in their education."
