Study abroad

Come learn about global sports and culture as part of the College of Education’s newest study abroad program.

This year the Department of Kinesiology is offering Global Sports and Culture, a faculty-led study abroad program. This 2-week long trip to South Korea will be a fun-filled educational opportunity to experience the sport industry in a different national setting. The program includes sports experiences with a sport facility tour which features the 2018 Olympic venues, fan culture and industry trend experiences, and cultural exploration. Students will gain hands-on learning experiences about sports and culture in an international context as well as three credit-hours of SS 4990. Participating graduate students will earn three credit-hours of SS 6990.

The study abroad program participants will depart on May 13th and return on May 27th. The cost of the program is $1830, and that includes in-country transportation, insurance, lodging, and excursion, and entrance fees. The fee does not include tuition, airfare, and meals. Out-of-state students will pay in-state tuition.

The application deadline is February 22, and the program fee is due on March 8. The Department of Kinesiology will actively raise funds for this program on campus, off campus and online. To apply go to https://msstate.studioabroad.com/index.cfm?FuseAction=Programs.ViewProgr...
