Jason Colby Baker
Three Works for Solo Snare Drum
Abstract:
Following the success of his debut CD, "The Noble Snare" (2005, 11 West Records), Jason Baker has released a follow-up collection of original works for the instrument that have each gained popularity through performances on professional, university, and conservatory recitals around the world. Each piece consists of short, contrasting movements that illustrate a variety of moods and musical ideas. While helpful to students or professionals who might be learning this music, this CD is also aimed at a listening audience interested in new music and percussion repertoire. Recorded at the Panhandle House in Denton, TX. Erik Herbst, engineer.
