Creating the gift agreement

A gift agreement will be established between you and your Director of Development. The gift agreement is designed to enforce your complete wishes. The purpose, schedule and form of contribution, recognition and adminstration will be determined. An important section of the gift agreement is the scholarship selection criteria. This will establish the guidelines on how your scholarship will be awarded.

Signature of agreement

Along with your signature, your gift agreement will be signed by the MSU Foundation. An original copy will be returned for your safe keeping.

Donor contribution

After earnings accrue or annual funds are made available, the College of Education Scholarship Committee will award your scholarship based on the gift agreement selection critiera.

Scholarship award

Students receive the scholarship through the university comptroller. Scholarship money is applied to tuition, and not awarded directly to the student.

Recognition

With your approval, proper recognition will be given in Mississippi State University and MSU Foundation publications. Students are encouraged to contact you with a letter of appreciation. Many times, the scholarship recipient initiates a visit to personally thank you for your assistance.
