  • Home of the National Center for Rural Early Childhood Learning Initiatives.
  • Home of the Rehabilitation Research and Training Center on Blindness and Low Vision, a national center which focuses on employment and independent living of persons who are blind or visually impaired.
  • Home of the Program for Research and Evaluation for Public Schools (PREPS), which conducts research, evaluation, and innovative professional development for Mississippi public schools.
  • Home of America Reads-Mississippi, which is dedicated to improving literacy and increasing the number of certified teachers in Mississippi.
  • Home of the World Class Teaching Program, which has helped over 500 teachers become National Board Certified.
  • Home of the Famous Maroon Band, one of the oldest and largest college bands in the nation.
