MSU Collaborates with local high school band

STARKVILLE, Miss.—Mississippi State University department of Music's associate professor Dr. Jason Baker, as well as associate professor and associate director of bands Dr. Cliff Taylor, recently collaborated with the Starkville Oktibbeha County School District's Shawn Sullivan and the Starkville High School Band for a special performance.   

The February 23rd concert held at the Greensboro Center in Starkville conducted by Dr. Taylor and premiered last month with the MSU Wind Ensemble.

SHS and several other high school bands helped to fund the completion of Cliff's "Concertpiece for Marimba and Wind Ensemble." Baker said, "We had an opportunity to also work with the SHS band and give this performance with them."
