MISSION OF THE INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES CENTER

The Instructional Resources Center (IRC) serves the College of Education at Mississippi State University by making available and assisting in the preparation of instructional resource materials and providing selected audiovisual equipment for use by the College of Education faculty, staff, and students. One of the main services that we offer is to provide a desired computing environment for our patrons. The Center houses two microcomputing facilities that support the College's technological endeavors. They provide Internet accessibility, computer-aided research, multimedia development, and reference materials pertinent to education-majored courses of study.
The Instructional Resources Center, located on the second floor of Allen Hall Annex, is the seat for technological innovations that drive instructional delivery within the College of Education. The environment created in this facility is sufficiently conducive to change so that faculty members may discover bold, new ways to teach.
A goal of the Center is to serve as a seedbed for idea germination and enhancement whereby faculty and students may realize a new approach to instruction. This may be through the development of an interactive, graphics-intensive presentation or merely the ensuring that faculty lecture notes are kept up-to-date.
