COMPUTING RESOURCES


General Information

The Instructional Resources Center houses two rooms' worth of computing resources-- Rooms 264 and 262, both located in Allen Hall. Currently, we are stocked with 19 Pentium Pro 200 IBM-compatible systems, 6 Pentium 200 IBM-compatible systems, 6 PowerPC 200 Mac-compatible systems (all of which are MPC-3 compliant), a Hewlett-Packard LaserJet 4Si MX laser printer, 2 Epson Color Stylus 800 inkjet printers, and a variety of software applications implemented to meet the needs of the College of Education (COE). These systems are driven by Novell Netware-based and Windows NT dedicated servers (across switched 10BaseT,) forming the instructional laboratory and professional development sections of the College of Education's LAN environment. The COE LAN is connected directly to the University's ATM backbone system. This integrated computing environment provides a complete computing service and an electronic classroom environment for the faculty, staff, and students in the College.
