Spring 2009 Ambassadors
The College of Education Ambassadors is an organization that serves as a liason for the College of Education Faculty and Staff to students, prospective students, alumni, and benefactors of the College.
Antonio Magee, President
Antonio is a junior Social Studies Education Major from Okolona, Mississippi. He is a graduate with honors of the Mississippi Law Enforcement Training Academy. Antonio is a member of the Future Educator's Association, the College of Education Teacher’s Council, and serves as the youth pastor at his church.
Mary Elizabeth Tackett, Vice President
Mary is a senior Kinesiology major from Starkville, Mississippi. She is a member of Phi Mu, Mortar Board, Phi Kappa Phi, Kappa Delta Pi, Campus Activities Board, and serves on the Student Activities Committee of the Student Association.
Francis Clare Book, Secretary
Francis is a junior Special Education major from Yazoo City, Mississippi. She is a member of Phi Mu Sorority, Future Educator's Association, and the Mississippi Association of Educators.
Laura Cooper, Treasurer
Laura is a senior Elementary Education major from Ackerman, Mississippi, and is presently completing her internship in Webster County. She is a member of Kappa Delta Pi, Vice-President of Community Service for Sigma Alpha Lambda, and a member of Chi Omega sorority. Her future plans are to either attend graduate school or begin her teaching career.
Melissa Ann Carter
Melissa is a junior Elementary Education major. She is a member of the Future Educators Association and Reformed University Fellowship.
Liz Heinz
Liz is a senior Elementary Education Student from Germantown, Tennessee, and is presently completing her internship with the Starkville Schools. She is a member of Zeta Tau Alpha, Future Teacher’s of America, and the MSU Student Association.
Erika Ashley Ivy
Erika is a senior Kinesiology major with a concentration in Clinical Exercise Physiology in the College of Education. She is a member of Phi Mu Sorority. Her future plans are to attend Physical Therapy School and to someday obtain a Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
Blair Elizabeth Porter
Blair is a senior Elementary Education major from Clinton, Mississippi. Blair will also receive certifications in science, social studies, and English and plans to obtain a master’s degree upon graduation.
Sara Savoy
Sara is a senior Secondary English Education major from Tishomingo, Mississippi. She is currently enrolled in the teaching internship in West Point, MS.
Thomas Leon Sellers, Jr.
Thomas is a junior Kinesiology major from Canton, Mississippi. He has served as Elections Commissioner of the Student Association and Orientation Leader for the University. He presently serves as the Vice President of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and is a member of the Order of Omega. After graduation, Thomas plans to attend Physical Therapy school.
